Virginia City day 2

The second day we were joined by some friends, and some very hot weather that added to the realism of wearing ten yards of fabric and a corset.

I made the red paisley dress, the green dress, and the grey vest and removable collar.

Maria I can't believe that no one has commented on this yet! These dresses are just so amazing and beautiful that they take my breath away! You all fit in so well with Virginia City, too. =) You have such a talent for making beautiful things with your hands...

Well, I forgot to leave a comment last time I looked over these photos. They look even better the second time! Everyone looks so beautiful and handsome. I really do love that red dress you made. I don't know if it's beautiful of if it makes you look beautiful, but it does the job wonderfully. It's my fav so far.

And the men, ah, the handsome young men, with the nicely fitting clothes. They look worthy of escorting beautiful young women along the boardwalks. I particularly love that wide tie on MPT. Did he pick that or did you?

Anyway, the pictures turned out great, and it's fun to imagine how we all would've looked 140 years ago.

I did pick out the tie MPT is wearing. His costumes get better and better each time we go. The collar was really fun to make too. Men's clothing is much more difficult to make though. If I could master that I would be set for life. Nobody does it, and I have learned why.
The other young man we had come along asked me if we are still planning on going again in August. he obviously had a great time too. And he is excited to make his costume more complete. The men really do seem to enjoy dressing up.
Thank you for your compliments. I am very proud of the red dress( thanks to Truly Victorian Patterns). I will never use generic patterns to make period clothing again!
